Introduction

Even though it works best when running batch simulation, HPC Platform aims at fitting best in your practice of running simulations.

Cluster Control enables you to define how you wish to interact with your simulation.

‍

‍

‍Core concept

Simulation

Simulation is the default value for cluster control, it enables you to launch computing nodes that will terminate automatically at the end of the simulation (unless specified otherwise). It is better suited for long lasting simulation or sets of batch computing but it can also be used to work with test simulations.

Thanks to cluster control you can connect to your simulation using a command line (SSH Access) or using a Graphical user interface directly connected to the head node of your cluster

Be careful, the GUI is intended to provide basic control and monitoring, do not expect high resolution and fluid computing capabilities

Cluster

Cluster is designed to give you more control over the launch and execution of your simulation. It differs from Simulation by enabling you to start the computing nodes for an unlimited time without having to add a simulation command. On the other hand, you have to specify a means of connection, either SSH (command line interface) or Graphical UI.

‍

Remote Desktop

Remote desktop gives you access to a single node with access to a Graphical user interface with high resolution.
